Wyoming Weed and Pest Council committees tackle specific tasks to keep Wyoming Wild and Beautiful by addressing invasive species.

Awards Committee

The Awards Committee reviews nominations for annual awards granted by the WWPC and selects award recipients.

Biological Control Steering Committee

The Biological Control Steering Committee aims to help facilitate the research and implementation of biological control projects in the state by allocating research funds to high-priority projects and providing biocontrol knowledge and technical assistance to Weed and Pest Districts.

Corridors Committee

The Corridors Committee collaborates with private landowners, government agencies, and utility right-of-way companies to educate and provide guidelines for the short- and long-term management of invasive species in easements.

Early Detection Rapid Response Committee

The Early Detection Rapid Response Committee increases awareness and participation of both Weed and Pest Districts and the public in identifying, preventing, and managing EDRR species that have the potential to invade our state. The committee also periodically reviews and proposes changes to the State Designated noxious species list.

Education Committee

The Education Committee promotes statewide invasive species outreach and education. 

Legislative Committee

The Legislative Committee advocates for the WWPC’s stance on legislative matters, policy changes, or activities affecting the Council’s goals in noxious weed and pest management.

Mapping/GIS Committee

The Mapping/GIS Committee advises, supports, and advances mapping/GIS technology in invasive species management by the Wyoming Weed and Pest Districts.

Pesticide Container Recycling Committee

The Pesticide Container Recycling Committee coordinates a program to collect the empty pesticide containers accumulated by Wyoming Weed and Pest Districts, compact them in a bailer, and ship them to a certified pesticide container recycling center.

Scholarship Committee

The Scholarship Committee raises funds for scholarships awarded to Wyoming residents pursuing education in agriculture or natural resources.

Strategic Planning Committee

The Strategic Planning Committee ensures the WWPC’s actions remain aligned with its mission and stay relevant during changing times.

Weed Free Products Committee

The Weed Free Products Committee increases awareness and participation in the North American Invasive Species Management Association’s Weed Free Products program and coordinates this effort in Wyoming.
