Everett Johnson Award

This award was initiated in 1995 in honor of Everett Johnson, an Albany county rancher and long-time Weed & Pest District board member. He made significant contributions to Wyoming’s weed and pest issues. This award is given in honor of Mr. Johnson to recognize the service of a district employee who has demonstrated outstanding weed and pest management practices in a Wyoming Weed & Pest Control District.

Harold P. Alley Award

This award was initiated in 1984 in honor of Dr. Harold P. Alley, a weed scientist with the University of Wyoming from 1955 to 1984. This award is given in honor of Dr. Alley to an individual who has provided support, leadership, motivation, and education toward the advancement of weed and pest control programs in Wyoming. Dr. Alley went above and beyond these qualifications.

Guy Haggard Award

This award was initiated in 2007 in honor of Guy Haggard, a long-time loyal friend of the Wyoming Weed and Pest Council who made noteworthy contributions to the program. Even after retirement, Guy attends WWPC meetings on his own merit. This award is given in honor of an individual who has provided motivation, friendship, loyalty, camaraderie, and support of the people and this organization.

Archie Lauer Award

This award was initiated in 2003 in honor of Archie Lauer, a Weed & Pest Supervisor in Niobrara county from 1977-2002. Mr. Lauer cared for the Weed & Pest programs and all the people who worked hard to reach their goals. This award is given each year in honor of Mr. Lauer to recognize an outstanding individual who has been a Weed & Pest board member and made significant contributions to the board and its success.
